Vale's older sister, and best friend. They grew up together wearing matching outfits, secretly watching Harry Potter and reading. Yadi is a process engineer at Kimberly Clark (where she hooks up the fam with toilet paper). Yadi resides in Tulsa, OK with her husband Conner and dog son, Milton.

Gabby was the first person Vale met in the freshmen dorms at Iowa State, and they have been the best of friends since! They bond over their love of plants, crafting and family. She recently earned a PhD from Iowa State, and is soon starting a postdoctoral position in Madison, WI with her husband Jordan and dog son, Eggsy.

Aura is Vale's younger cousin, is cat mom to Lilo, and a Doula in training. She was roomies with Austin & Vale one summer, and now they love taking Costco trips and having quiet time together. Aura and Vale are the youngest-ish in their family, and therefore the funniest.

Laura is Vale’s older cousin, she is an amazing FCS teacher, and a talented chef and baker! Vale & Laura are only one year apart, but Vale has always looked up to Laura and admired her creativity, kindness and selflessness.

Abi is Vale’s oldest friend! They first met in 4th grade at River Woods Elementary, and life brought them back together junior year of college. Abi is in her first year of medical school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where she is rocking the socks off of feet (pun intended). She lives in Gurnee, IL with her husband Phil and cat son, Link.

Brenda and Vale met in the study rooms of Science Bound at Iowa State, and have been close friends since! As roommates in 2019, they enjoyed walks with Lily (rip corgi queen), dominos thin crust pizza with pineapple and diet cokes! Brenda lives in Chicago, IL with her husband Tad and has kicked butt at Kemin Industries for over 10 years!

Phil was the first person Austin met when he moved into the dorms, as they were neighbors. They lived together during the next years and enjoyed longboarding, disc golfing, and finding weird and stupid ways to keep themselves entertained through college. Phil lives in the Chicago area with his wife Abi (a bridesmaid) while working as an engineer for Stellar.

Austin and Jordan have been living in Ames for almost 10 years. Whenever Vale and Austin have a free weekend, they usually text Gabby and Jordan and ask “what are you guys doing this weekend?” Jordan might be biggest chiefs fan you will ever meet. Although Vale and Austin are not necessarily chiefs fans, they often go to Gabby and Jordan’s on game days and root for Jordan’s happiness.

Austin met Jimmy freshman year of college and were roommates the next 4 years. Jimmy is always the mvp when the squad plays video games together. Jimmy lives in the Chicago area and works as a software developer at State Farm, most importantly, dog father of Lily.

Stephen was originally know as the later in the Chicago based duo once exclusively referred to in pair as “Jimmy & Stephen.” However, through four years of rooming together, Austin got to know Stephen as the friendly, kind, and hardworking individual that he still is today. Stephen lives in Austin,Texas and works as a senior software engineer for PepsiCo.

Even though Conner and Yadi got married first, we all know that Austin was really the first white boy to join the Cano/Camacho/Garcia family. Competition aside, Conner and Austin enjoy catching up at family gatherings and playing new board games. Conner lives in Tulsa Oklahoma with his wife, and sister of the bride, Yadira.

Alex was Austin’s freshman year roommate who, coincidentally, also grew up in Wisconsin. Alex is very outgoing and sociable in contrast to Austin’s shy and awkwardness. Nevertheless, the unlikely duo shared many great times together through the years. Alex lives in De Piere, WI with his wife Bailey.

Katie and Vale met freshman year at Iowa State as part of the 2019 class of Agronomy majors. The instantly clicked over their love of plants, worldly views and love for others. Katie completed her masters and is now a research scientist at North Carolina State University. She lives near Raleigh with her partner James, and their three kittens, Kleo, Leo and Teo.

Megs and Vale met freshman year at Iowa State in a meteorology class, where they bonded over their love-hate relationship with weather. They continued being the best of friends throughout undergrad and were part of the fun lunches with Dr. Cooper in Curtiss Hall. Megan is an Education Extension Specialist for Iowa State and lives in Deep River, IA with her partner Wesley.
