Joseph and Valencia met on a Sunday morning. Valencia and her family were looking for a church to call their home, having recently moved to Virginia, and stumbled upon LightHouse Church. After the church service, Joe and his best man, David, approached the bride-to-be and her maid of honor, Bianca, to invite them to the youth group.

Here’s a fun fact:

As the bride’s mother watched these two men approach her daughters, she knew that Joe and David would show up much more in her daughters’ lives than just on a Sunday morning (hehe).

Valencia and Joe stayed distant friends for over two years. At some point, though, Joe slipped up and made a move on Valencia (he opened the door for her, lol). Joe and Valencia started talking, and then Joe finally asked the girl on a date.

Valencia and Joe dated for about a month and became official on April 15th, 2023. Soon, God confirmed they were the one, but they kept dating until they felt more peace about advancing toward marriage. Seven months later, Joe asked for Valencia’s parents’ and sisters’ blessings (the overachiever) and proposed to Valencia on December 3rd, 2023.
