Dating during Covid, not the most conventional or ideal terms but Val and Kev thought they would give it a shot. Their story starts in May of 2021, swiping left and right on the dating apps. After matching and chatting back and forth for a little while, they started slow with a date over FaceTime. They talked about their love for music, and all the concerts they've seen- slowly realizing they both have been to many of the same shows at the same times. Always in the same place, but never knowing each other.

The first date was June 9th at Libertee Grounds in Philly. Val and Kev sat down, and never moved the entire night. They sat and talked for hours about family, friends, hobbies, etc. So much so, that the wait staff had to come over and tell them they will be closing soon. Not realizing they had been sitting there talking for hours. Luckily, they did have enough time to sneak in a quick game of mini golf. In the end, Val won. Kev will say he was "taking it easy", but he wasn't.

After their first date, the next few dates followed very quickly. Kev took many trips down to the city after work and on weekends, to see Val. And she took many trips out of the city to see Kev in the burbs. They spent the summer meeting each other's friends, going on dates, and sharing the best parts of their lives with each other.

Fast forward a couple years, Val and Kev started living together in North Wales, and expanded their family with the addition of their puppy, Pepper. Over Labor Day weekend in 2023, they decided to take a trip up to the lake house, where Kev asked Val to be his wife. As an extra sentimental gesture, Kev proposed with Val's grandmother's engagement ring. Kev planned an event filled weekend, and even surprised Val with some of their best friends to share the special day. After the weekend, the surprises continued at the Mattia house with an engagement party with close family.

In the months following the engagement, they have been planning their wedding together, and looking forward to celebrating with all of their family and friends. Their last few years together have been amazing, and mostly they want to thank all of their family and friends for their constant support. "Our Story" wouldn't be possible without all of you, and we cannot wait to see you all together on our wedding day.
