Vanessa and Jose (Andrew) first met in September 2014 at a Catholic Student Association (CSA) event. Where Jose overheard Vanessa and her friends excitingly talking about Banda MS. Not knowing much about who that was, Jose knew he had to think and act quickly. He pretended to “really like” that kind of music in order to buy his way into the conversation, in hopes of getting a shot at talking to whom he was convinced was the most beautiful girl in the room.

From that day forward, Vanessa and Jose became good friends and would often see each other at CSA events. Even though Jose sometimes pretended to not be excited to see her (in order to play it off), the truth was he could hardly contain his excitement at the idea of him talking to that cute girl again! It rapidly became a norm for these two love birds to hang out with Vanessa’s cousin and younger sister, who all became very good friends. Nonetheless, the end of their sophomore year in college shortly came to an end when Jose moved back to his hometown in Santa Maria.

As time and distance would have it, the communication between these two quickly faded. Life made sure to occupy each one with their own struggles. Jose figured that bond that was once so special had simply vanished into thin air to never to be seen again. Moreover, God had plans of its own, and He made sure to bring them back together. In the midst of their troubles Vanessa and Jose found themselves reconnecting. It almost felt as if God had intended to bring these two together from the beginning but life got in the way. So God made it happen again, hoping these two would play their cards better the second time around. Actually, she ended up aiding Jose in the fighting of the battles that he was fighting at the time. Together alongside God they conquered and Jose finally mustard up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend on October 8th, 2017, at a Five Guys fast food restaurant in Arroyo Grande, CA.

Moving forward to 2019, after much thought and prayer both decided to attend Fresno State University to further their education. Their excitement to see each other on a daily basis was all they could think about after living so far apart for such a long time. Once there, they spent a lot of time together… and I mean a lot of time together! However, once more their time together was cut short by COVID-19. Both Jose and Vanessa moved back to their hometowns and finished their studies from home to graduated Class of 2021.

Jose, having had enough of the long distance dating decided to propose in January 2022. Now, Jose and Vanessa are excited to invite you to the ceremony in which they will receive Gods blessing in holy matrimony. And finally fulfill that plan that God had since that first time they met back in 2014. With that in mind, Jose and Vanessa humbly hope you can joint them for their special day on October 7th, 2023.
