Steven and Vanessa's relationship began at work, where they were both employed at a Tim Hortons in Burlington, Ontario. Steven, at 17, and Vanessa, at 18, were coworkers, but their connection didn’t start off as anything more than that. Steven often expressed frustration, feeling like Vanessa barely spoke to him. Little did he know, her silence came from shyness, coupled with the fact that she thought he was cute. She was nervous about speaking to him or making the first move.

Vanessa's brother also worked at the Tim Hortons and one day invited Vanessa, Steven, and his friend Cheryl to a drive-in movie. It was there, in a more relaxed setting, that Vanessa and Steven started to talk more openly. The conversation flowed easily, and their awkwardness melted away. From that moment, their friendship grew, and they spent more and more time together. Eventually, Vanessa admitted that she liked Steven, and to her surprise, he confessed that he felt the same way.

Since they first got together, Steven and Vanessa have shared nearly 12 years of love, growth, and unforgettable memories. Their bond has only deepened over time, and in June 2025, they’ll celebrate their marriage, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Throughout their relationship, they’ve been avid movie fans, often going to the cinema together to enjoy the latest films. Both passionate gamers, they spend hours side by side, immersed in virtual worlds while cherishing each other’s company.

Their journey has taken them on many exciting adventures. They’ve traveled to beautiful places like Aruba (Where they got engaged), Jamaica, Florida Disney World and in April 2024, they embarked on a memorable cruise for Vanessa's 30th birthday. Now, as they settle into a new home in December 2024, they’re beginning yet another exciting phase of their lives. Together, they’re building a future, with marriage as the next milestone on their shared adventure. They look forward to celebrating their love and new beginnings with their closest family and friends.
