Luke and Vanessa&nbsp;first met on February 3,2013 at Sig Ep'S Bid Day. Vanessa and her friends were at Sig Ep when she first saw Luke and was instantly smitten. She asked her friend Ale who he was and she replied that he was a new pledge. Vanessa knew there was something about him that was special. Given that she never had a boyfriend, she told her friend he'd be the one. They briefly met that day, but fate brought them together on February 15, 2013 at Crush Party. Luke had been sitting with her friend from high school, Tyler when she joined their table and charmed Luke by saying, "Hi, I'm Vanessa and I'm a cool girl." They hit it off that night and got to know each other throughout the following months and made it official July 19, 2013.

Our Love Story

Vanessa I remember having dinner with with my girl friends the night before leaving for 1 month to Mexico. I told them that I had a feeling that Luke was going to propose soon through little signs I had picked up on. Because I was leaving for a month,the anticipation and excitement grew! I didn't know if he was going to come to Mexico or if it would happen when I got back from my trip. Once I got back, I was overjoyed to see him! I had missed him so much, but he was supportive of the quality time I got to spend with my grandmother. I came home with my nails done just in case! Luke and I spent every day together that week, but I had a Young Lives mission trip just a few days after arriving from Mexico. While I was at Young Lives camp in Burnet, I spent a lot of time thanking God and reflecting through quiet&nbsp; moments with God. I thanked Him for the blessings my life was filled with and the blessings He had coming in my future path. While on the bus ride back, I had gotten a phone call and landed an amazing job! This news just brought a smile to my face, because I know blessings were coming in full force. While I was at camp, Luke said that he had requested the following day off from work to spend quality time together after I had been away for so long. While I was on the bus, I told another Young Life leader that I had a really good feeling about that date he asked me on. This was probably the most exciting trip home after a wonderful experience at camp, a new job and hopefully a fiance!!!! June 14-&nbsp;It was time to meet Luke for our date! He had asked if I wanted to go on a picnic and he planned on making our meal. I woke up with the best feeling in my heart, and had the music blasting with excitement as I was getting ready. I told my parents that something about that day felt special. Whether or not he proposed, I knew in my heart that it would be a great day. Luke had told me that he needed to go back into the office, because they had requested he finish a project. This threw me off big time! Either way, I was excited for the picnic and to spend time with him. He took me to White Rock Lake, a special place for us. This is the place I fell in love with Luke with the summer we started dating in 2013. We spent&nbsp;a lot of nights laying on the dock and looking at the stars while learning about each other through deep conversations. I had never seen a shooting star up until that summer when I was next to him. I bet you know what I wished for!! Flash forward, Luke set up the picnic and asked if we could pray to thank God for our meal, but most importantly where our relationship was headed and how strong we had grown. As we were holding hands and he said, "Amen," he got down on one knee and asked me to MARRY HIM!! I'm pretty sure I said yes before he could finish asking. Then our friend popped out with a camera. It sure was a picture perfect day.
