"It all started with a look."

Vanessa had just started a new job at McCourt Label after 5 months of unemployment. Scott had been working there for 5 years.

Her very first day she was given a tour of the office, Scott had already started his day, so they couldn't be introduced. A few hours went by, and it happened. He walked past her desk; and she knew.

She texted her friend (and bridesmaid) Kaylee and said "I just saw the man Im going to marry." And the search for Scott began. It started...with the e-mail directory. "Scott Martin." She and Kaylee searched through every social media platform and found....nothing. Two weeks later, the world shut down.

Vanessa and Scott went to work from home for 5 weeks. Vanessa at her "Babe Cave" in Bradford. Scott a mile away from the office in Lewis Run. On May 18th, 2020 both she and Scott were scheduled to return to office. Both Vanessa and Scott stopped into the Crosby down the street from McCourt. A simple "Hey, hows it goin?" from Scott brought that feeling rushing back to Vanessa. Not 3 minutes later, they both parked their vehicles and were getting ready to start their day back at work. Scott had his laptop. Vanessa had a huge box, as she had to bring her entire desktop home with her.

Did Scott offer to help her?!

No...He walked right into the office and let the door shut in her face.

The weeks went by, and Scott and Vanessa started chatting each morning in the stairwell before doing the mandatory Covid/temperature checks upon entering the office.

They discovered that they had a love for Miller Lite in common.

Scott began using any excuse to come over to Vanessa's side of the office. Killing flies was one of them, and if you know Scott...he takes this very seriously.

Vanessa began talking about Scott to her friends regularly. Her friend and former coworker Shane made a connection. He had also worked with a "Hott Scott" (Vanessa's name for him) in the past at Radioshack in Bradford. That was her in.

Immediately an email was sent.

"Hey....weird question, did you ever work at radioshack?"

They emailed back and forth all day, and it ended with an exchange of phone numbers.

People were ending their work day early, Scott included. They sent emails out for things like leaving for softball, etc.

Scotts email said "leaving for the day...not sports related."

He texted Vanessa from the parking lot:

"Unless drinking is a sport."

Vanessa's response?

"Drinking is my favorite sport."

And that my friends, is when they both knew this was going to be something; considering Vanessa blacked out by 2pm on their very first date. (Fluffy Fest: 2020)

In the 5 years they have been together, they have rented 2 places, purchased a home, 2 vehicles, impulsively brought home the best doggo, Mr. Chuck Norris Martin, a.k.a. Goosey boy...hosted countless get-togethers, traveled a ton, have celebrated so many beautiful moments, and have navigated life's curveballs along the way. They have also developed an almost cult like relationship with Universal Studios Florida, visiting 6 times in the last 2 years...becoming annual passholders. (I bet you can guess where the honeymoon will be)

Scott took Theresa (Vanessa's mom) to buy a ring on Thursday, May 30th, 2024...and in true Vanessa fashion, checked his location and knew what he was doing.

What she didnt know, is that 5 short days later on June 3rd, he would be proposing at their home, in their living room...after a romantic dinner, catered by Arby's, with her mother, father, and Miema present.
