Justin and Vanessa first met in November of 2018. They were working within different parts of Nestle - Justin at Nespresso and Vanessa at Nestle Waters - and they were nominated for a leadership development course in Miami. The first night at a group dinner, Vanessa made the first move by sitting down next to him despite there being many open seats elsewhere. Always astute, Justin knew what was happening. They hit it off.

A week later they went on their first date in New York City - a romantic evening with Vanessa and her parents and her grandmother, who were in town visiting for Thanksgiving. Ever the gentleman, Justin picked up the tab. Vanessa’s grandmother thanked him later that evening and said with a wink, “But if I knew you were paying, I would have ordered the steak.”

Soon they were a couple, spending most weeks in NYC at Justin’s and weekends in Stamford, CT at Vanessa’s. When COVID hit, Justin moved out to Stamford “temporarily.” The rest is history: they quarantined together, got two kittens (Dexter and Olivia) and then relocated to the Boston area in the summer of 2022.

This past March they both had to travel back down to NYC for work at the same time - Vanessa now working for Fresenius Medical Care and Justin now working in Nestle’s Health Science division. Justin organized a special weekend in the city where they started dating and proposed to Vanessa after an amazing meal and double dessert. His final proposal line - “So, do you want to do this or what?” - will forever warm Vanessa’s heart.
