Abraham and Veronica’s story began in California’s Bay Area. Veronica lived in Berkeley, while Abraham visited San Francisco for an alumni event. They met online and Abraham suggested a first date at the botanical garden. Abraham arrived early—a promising first impression—but they quickly discovered a mix-up: Abraham was at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden, while Veronica had gone to the garden in San Francisco. After realizing the mistake, Veronica drove to Berkeley, and they spent the car ride getting to know each other over the phone.

Their connection was immediate and seemingly divine. Veronica learned Abraham was building a startup law firm, while Abraham discovered Veronica was a first-year doctoral student in chemistry. They bonded over a love of learning, competitive natures, shared Arkansas roots, and even plant-based diets. Abraham admired Veronica’s adventurous spirit and curiosity, while Veronica was drawn to Abraham’s positivity and intentional approach to life. From that first date, they both sensed they’d found something special.

After dinner and a Lyft back to the Hilton, Abraham booked a flight to return to California the next month, sending Veronica a screenshot to confirm. They’ve spoken daily ever since, traveling cross-country to see each other and meeting up for weddings, graduations, birthdays, and holidays.

Two years into their relationship, Veronica relocated with her thesis lab to Princeton University. Finally, they lived on the same side of the country.

On September 16th, beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Abraham proposed—catching Veronica completely by surprise.

After years of love, shared adventures, and connecting with each other’s families, they’re excited to officially begin their life together and celebrate their union with loved ones.
