We met at work, not knowing that life was quietly placing the most important person right beside us. What began as laughter shared during long days and conversations that came effortlessly grew into a decade-long friendship—steady, loyal, and full of unspoken understanding. For ten years, we stood in each other’s lives, never imagining that the foundation for a future love was already being built.

Then came May of 2023.

A double date in Jacksonville, FL—ordinary to anyone else, but unforgettable to us. Somewhere between shared glances, familiar smiles, and the comfort of being together, something shifted. The friendship that had carried us for so long opened its arms and revealed something sweeter, deeper, and beautifully unexpected.

Not long after, we began dating, stepping into a love that felt both brand new and wonderfully familiar—like coming home.

On July 26th, surrounded by the warmth of family at the Lane’s 53rd Family Reunion, D’Marcus asked Veronica to marry him (making sure her nails were done before hand...lol). In that moment, time slowed, hearts opened, and with a joyful “YES,” a promise was made—one rooted in years of friendship and sealed with a future of forever.

Today, we share a life in Tallahassee, FL, where Veronica is pursuing her master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and D’Marcus continues to growing his entrepreneurial dreams through his business, Delta Romeo. Together, we are growing, creating, and choosing each other every day.
