We met when Dave married my cousin Sherri in February 1979. I visited them often in Colorado. Sherri and I were only 5 months apart and would talk, email or text every day. She died after a brief illness in October 2020.

Dave and I would talk during the months and years afterward. Then in June of 2023, I flew to Colorado to attend the burial of Sherri's ashes in the mountains overlooking Pikes Peak. We talked about many things that weekend; sharing stories about what we wanted the future to look like for both of us.

Didn't take long for us to realize we enjoyed being together and started a long-distance relationship. The more we flew to see each other; the more we realized we wanted to be together. Dave asked me to marry him August 11, 2024.
