Driving is about 12 hours for most of our friends and family in AL and GA. It *can* be done in one day, but we recommend stopping overnight in Kentucky - Lexington and Bowling Green are our favorite spots, depending on if youre coming up 65 or 75. Don't forget to stop at a Buc-ee's on the way, and wear your traditional road tripping tie-dyed shirt! For either route, we highly suggest going through Ft. Wayne and taking I-69 to I-94 West.
If you're flying, there are a bunch of airport options:
-Kalamazoo/Battle Creek (AZO) is about 5 minutes from Vickie's house and 10 minutes from downtown Kalamazoo.
-Gerald Ford/Grand Rapids (GRR) is about an hour from town, but offers flights with Frontier and Southwest.
-Detroit/Wayne County (DTW) is about 2 hours from town, but is the main Delta hub for the area.
-Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) in Chicago can be a fun side excursion, and Amtrak runs multiple daily routes from Union Station to downtown Kalamazoo.
We have room blocks at the Home2 downtown (149/night plus parking, within the downtown Kalamazoo social district) as well as the Four Points by Sheraton (120-130/night) near the airport and Vickie's house. Both are about a 30 minute drive to the wedding venue.
