Q + A

What in the world is SHACC?!

SHACC, or Seneca High Adventure Christian Camp is a non-denominational, non- profit high adventure camp in the heart of the beautiful Mongolia National Park. The camp was started in the 80's when 2 couples had a vision and purchased some land. Since then families, youth groups and really anyone who is willing have been volunteering their time, energy, and talents to help build camp and keep it running! It truly is a labor of love. Hundreds of people have come through the gates over the years and I know from experience that they have all been blessed in some way!

We aren't really outdoorsy people.. will we be ok ?

YES!! There are lots of lodging options that do not involve nature. Also some cute shops & visitor centers to explore.

What should we wear?

For the wedding think .. beach wedding .. in the mountains! :) Something comfortable yet nice. Do also pack some sort of light rain jacket and a sweater or a light jacket as the weather can change quickly. I also recommend sunblock, a hat , sneakers and a swimsuit if you would like to explore the area at all. If you have any questions about specific activities please ask!

How long should we stay?

The ceremony will begin 4:00 sharp, with dinner following @ 6:00 . A MORE DETAILED SCHEDULE WILL BE POSTED CLOSER TO THE WEDDING DAY! We recommend staying at least Saturday night. If you are able to also stay Friday evening we do think you will enjoy exploring the area!

What is Part two about?

We wanted to add part two so that we can celebrate with those who are not able to attend our wedding. An evening with the Newlyweds will be held on August 10th at Grace Church in Pen Argyl, Pa. We will start off in the sanctuary @ 6:30, followed by a time of fellowship and light refreshments downstairs in the fellowship hall.

I have more questions. How do I get a hold of you ?

Please feel free to text Me or Chad at anytime should you have ANY questions or concerns. Chad: 610.762.3357 Vicky: 917.742.2659 PLEASE NOTE.. Cell service is very limited in WV. Petersburg will be your last chance to make a call until you get to your destination. Also if you need anything on the wedding day you can call camp directly: 304.567.3398 We suggest writing down these numbers just in case ;)

Driving into and more !

Coming from PA you will most likely take 81S to Route 11 to 37 to 50 to 220 to 28
If you see Winchester , Wardensville , Moorefield , & Petersburg then you are going the best way!
It really is a beautiful, easy drive!
There will be spots along the way that you lose reception. And after going through Petersburg you will not have any service unless on WiFi.
So it is recommended that you download offline maps, bring atlas, screenshot or write down directions!
Think 1995 !

Please call us with any questions regarding your trip. We really are happy to help!

Our wedding ceremony will be held at the base of Seneca Rocks @ 4pm. You can use the lot by the old farm house. We will be over by the pavilion.

If you need to use the restrooms or grab something to eat/ drink, there are two cute little general stores just past the park. ( you can walk there if you’d like)
The visitors center also has nice restrooms and vending machines.
If you park there , you can walk over via the wooden path / bridge.
You can expect our ceremony to be around 30-40 minutes .
After this you can head back to camp for reception. Maps attached. Camps entrance will be on your right shortly after the Macksville Mart. It does creep up on you so be on the look out!

Please note that parking will be tight at camp . If you can carpool with someone and leave a car at the visitors center that would be helpful!
Otherwise look for parking signs @ camp and please park smart ! ( ie don’t leave 10 feet in between you and other cars ;)

If it rains we will have the ceremony at camp as well.

There is one bathroom in pavilion at camp that you are free to use.
You are also welcome to explore and wonder up to the shower house where there are PLENTY more facilities available!
Men on left, ladies on right.
You are more than welcome to walk around and check things out!

Please be respectful of the cabins as they will be in use. Also the center area of shower house ( lower and upper ) are used by our staff and will probably have some furry friends tucked away there, so please ask permission should you need to use those areas. There is an office and nurses station in the center area if needed.

We will have a good variety of food available, however if you have any allergies or special requests please let us know ahead of time!

We want you to feel welcomed and comfortable during your visit ! So please do not hesitate to ask for anything !
