In the world of social media and dating apps, Rick discovered Vicky's profile and decided to reach out through Facebook. After chatting online for weeks, Rick suggested a traditional first date at the movies, only to be met with Vicky's playful refusal — 'we’re not 12'. However, their story took a different turn when they agreed to meet at a cozy jazz bar in Downtown Miami, called Le Chat Noir. It was here that Vicky made the first move, sparking a connection that would shape their journey together.

Rick reached out to Vicky's friend, Erica, who happens to be a photographer. Whenever Erica is in town, she does a photoshoot with Vicky. Together, Rick and Erica arranged for a special "photoshoot" to take place at the historic Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne, against the backdrop of the picturesque Cape Florida Lighthouse. On July 24th, 2022, Vicky, Rick, and Erica ventured to the designated location for the photoshoot. Prior to the shoot, Erica informed Rick of the plan: once the drone was airborne and she signaled him with a tap on the shoulder and the keyword "look sharp", everything would be set for him to propose. Rick seized the moment, catching Vicky completely off guard. Overwhelmed with emotion, Vicky experienced a moment of disbelief, unable to recall a single word from Rick's heartfelt speech. However, amidst the whirlwind of emotions, she joyously uttered the most important word: yes.
