Our Wedding

We met over Fourth of July weekend in 2022 while camping at Trout Run in Wellsville, New York, thanks to a group of mutual friends and a weekend that turned into something unforgettable. Somewhere between the music, the campground energy, and Ben asking me to join him on the dance floor, everything just clicked. We line danced (or at least attempted to), laughed, and spent the night playing beer pong and dancing to country music back at our friends’ camper. From the very beginning, it felt right, so right that I didn’t want the night, or the weekend, to end.I felt an instant connection to Ben and stepped out of my comfort zone in a way I never had before. There was no nervousness or uncertainty, just comfort, excitement, and the feeling that this was exactly where I was meant to be. And if you ever see the videos of Ben trying to line dance with his mullet, a Budweiser in hand, and absolutely zero coordination… you’ll understand why that night still makes us laugh.Our first date only confirmed what we already felt. We went to a drive-in movie and watched Minions: The Rise of Gru and Top Gun: Maverick, curled up in the bed of Ben’s truck, complete with surround sound he set up. As if the night wasn’t perfect enough, we even saw a shooting star. From the very start, everything felt easy and natural. Ben’s outgoing spirit pushed me to try new things, and his belief in me changed my life. He supported me through college and reminded me, every step of the way, that I was capable of more than I ever realized.In 2024, Ben proposed at Lakeside Beach State Park, our favorite place, and somewhere we camp every year. On the rocks by the water, in a quiet and deeply personal moment, he asked me to marry him. It was a complete surprise, even to him, but I knew without a doubt that he was the one. Today, we share our life with our dog Daisy and our kitties Minnie and Mister, spend nights choosing shows we’re not allowed to watch without each other, and look forward to a lifetime of growing together. What excites us most is continuing to support, challenge, and love one another, and never losing the love that brought us here. And somehow, it all led us here.It's always been us, and it always will be.
