They are 100% Total Nerds Together!!! This couple loves history and watches documentaries at home for FUN. Except for War Documentaries, these are not Victoria's favorite but Mark likes watching them. Want to spark a good conversation with Mark? Ask him about History or Geography, these are his two favorite subjects!
Talk about Movie Fanatics!!! Don't challenge this couple to a movie trivia. These two can quote movie one liner's all day and keep each other entertained for hours!! It's like they're speaking their own secret language together. They're true nerds at heart.
Favorite Movie Quote: "Long Dai" from a documentary they watched together about a bridge in Vietnam.
What does this couple like to do on the weekends? FOOTBALL SUNDAYS!!! Known as a sacred tradition in their household, this fun loving couple enjoys good Food, Fun, Family & Football. An ideal perfect Sunday for these two.
Are there cultural differences between Mark and Victoria? Of course there are!! Mark is Canadian and Victoria is Hispanic. Ironically their differences are what make them a perfect match!! They appropriate one another's cultural differences very well. For example, Mark loves Mexican food and prefers his food extra Spicy. In fact, not a lot of people know that Mark secretly keeps a stash of "Tapatio" Hot Sauce in his office desk for emergency's or to spice up his lunch!! On the other hand, Victoria watches Hockey and wears Lulu Lemon as her preferred recreational attire and now speaks Canadian. They are truly "Blending". (Movie Quote).

The First Date, May 12, 2022. Mark asked Victoria if she wanted to meet in person after they had both chatted online for a few days getting to know one another. Victoria agreed to a lunch date and they both met at Fresh Fin Poke in Salt Lake City. Victoria's first impression of Mark was that he was really cute and very confident in himself. BIG Bonus!! Victoria like's confident men. Mark thought Victoria was pretty cute and truly wanted a second date with her.
The Second Date, May 18, 2022. Role reversal. Victoria asked Mark if she could take HIM out for his Birthday and so she surprised him with a nice dinner at The Dodo Restaurant in Sugarhouse. They both sat outside on the patio dining for what seemed like hours. Talking, laughing and enjoying one another's company literally until the restaurant closed. They were the last one's to leave.
The Third Date was MAGICAL..... This was the First Kiss!!! Victoria had never been Country Western line dancing before so Mark planned the date and took her to The Westerner. This is where Mark showed off his "Patrick Swayze" dance like moves on the dance floor and swept her off her feet. Their first kiss was on the dance floor that night and sparks flew!!! Way to GO Mark!!!
Mark and Victoria have been inseparable ever since!! They have grown in love together as a couple and can truly admit they are best the best of friends.
Milestones to Celebrate:
Mark & Victoria closed escrow in August 2023 with the purchase of their very first home in Herriman. They said "YES to the Address".
Mark Proposed: October 2nd 2023 - Mark proposed to Victoria with Family and Friends all around and during their Housewarming Party. BEST DAY EVER!!!!
FUN FACTS about the Bride:
Born in 1982 in Madera, California to Manuel Lemus and Irma Lemus. Victoria is Hispanic and was born and raised in California. She has two brothers and three sisters and is second to the oldest in her family. A true daddy's girl growing up, Victoria was closest with her Dad. Her fondest memories with him include fishing, camping, traveling and going on wild adventures together! Victoria has three beautiful children she's raised and is proud to be their Mom.
Ancestry - 39% Mexican, 55% Spanish/Southern European, 7% Irish

In High School, Victoria played the Clarinet in Marching Band and was also a swimmer on the swim team for Madera High School. GO Coyotes!!!
FUN FACTS about the Groom:
Born in 1978 to Don and Leslie Dewald, the youngest of three, in Calgary, Canada. Mark moved in 1993 to Utah where he grew up with his aunt and uncle Lindsey and Ed O'Brien and became the oldest of 8 siblings. Mark likes to laugh that despite being the only Dewald in a family of O'Brien, he is actually the only blood O'Brien. His family is a true family of adoption and loves all. Interestingly with O'Brien as being an Irish heritage, Mark is only 1% Irish.
Ancestry - 55% Northern English/Scottish, 25% Western European, 20% Eastern European.
