Our Wedding

Please Read:Per Christopher Newport's policy, all attendees will be required to wear a mask when indoors, regardless of vaccination status, unless eating or drinking. This includes the entirety of the ceremony and throughout the cocktail hour and reception when not consuming food or drink. We appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to keep our loved ones healthy and safe and abide by venue policy.

Due to concerns with COVID-19, and to be as accommodating as possible to our cherished guests, we will be offering a virtual option for attendance at our ceremony. It will be live-streamed via Zoom for guests to watch from home and still share this beautiful moment with us. More details for our virtual attendance option will be shared on our website as our date approaches. Those who wish to attend virtually will attend only the ceremony, while those who will attend in person will be invited for both the ceremony and reception. If you wish to attend either in person or virtually, please RSVP "Yes" and you will then be prompted to select an option. If you cannot attend neither virtually nor in person, please RSVP "No."

Call it fate, destiny, or very cliché... we met in math class! We had known of each other through our respective a cappella groups in college but never really interacted. That was until one very early morning in our statistics class, back in 2017, we happened to sit next to each other after a change in our usual seating arrangements. We got to talking after class and agreed to study for our final together. That summer we met up a few times to hang out and get to know each other and decided to become a couple on July 31, 2017. Our love for each other has only grown since. We fell for each other hard and fast, but we both knew it was meant to be. Since then, here are a few things we have shared: going mini-golfing, vacationing in the Dominican Republic, a Rose family cruise to the Bahamas, a magical trip to Disney World, a half-cross-country trip from Virginia to Texas, surprise visits, eating so much good food, countless date nights, holidays, sorority dances, living long distance for over a year, and finally moving into a place of our own in Texas where we're currently living. We have grown so much both as individuals and as partners to each other over the years and have learned a great deal about love and commitment. Through it all, we have remained kind, respectful, loving, appreciative, and committed to one another in every way possible. A love like ours is hard to come by, but we are grateful every day to have found each other. We are looking forward to a beautiful future together, and a lifetime filled with happiness and kindness.

“I have known Jacob for most of my life— almost twenty years. When he moved to Yorktown with his family Jacob only came out at night to play basketball by himself. One day his family had a yard sale and Mamma Kim (Jacob's mom) made him go down the street with the kids from the neighborhood to make friends. From that day on we have been inseparable. We have made some unforgettable memories together like playing Naruto at the church and pool, playing toontown almost 24/7 for like a year, spending a whole summer playing Maplestory, going to Disney World twice, going to OBX and Lake Gaston with each others’ families, and so many others. We have been together through the highest of highs and lowest of lows. We like to say that we are stuck together like a ball and chain. We have shaped each other into the people we are today. I do not know where I would be or who I would be without my best friend Jacob.”
