September 2, 2022, is a night we will always remember. It was during a Friday night football game when it started to storm, moving everyone into a small gym. That was the night we met, and from then on we have been walking side by side. We met young, Victoria was 15 & Pedro was 16, and in many ways, we’ve grown up together. Along the way we’ve shared milestones that mean so much to us: our first homecoming on Victoria’s birthday, our first prom on Pedro’s birthday. Then our first Thanksgiving together, when we met each other at sunrise at the park and told each other “I love you” for the first time. These memories remind us how far we’ve come and how much we continue to cherish the moments we create together. What has made our relationship strong is learning to value the small things: the daily encouragement, the laughter, the late-night conversations, and the quiet presence of knowing we’re not alone. Over the past 1,117 days, through every high and low, one thing has remained constant—the choice we make to love and support each other every single day. When we were just 17, we looked at a venue and promised each other that one day it would be the place where we would say “I do.” Today, that same venue is the one we’ve chosen for our wedding in 2026. It feels like the continuation of a promise we made to each other years ago—proof that what we prayed together for then is becoming a reality now. At the center of it all is our faith, Jesus. We love because He first loved us, and that truth continues to guide our relationship. “We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
