Millbrook has an adorable historic downtown with lots of shops worth checking out!

Fun fact - nearby Cavan-Monaghan is home to the largest Buddhist temple outside of Asia. We first drove by this place when it was under early construction and it made us slam on the brakes and pull over to investigate what it was. Needless to say, it's pretty spectacular and this picture does not do it justice. You could definitely fill an afternoon walking around the compound.

Opening hours Thurs-Mon are 9am to 6pm. Paid parking is available.

The Riverview Park and Zoo in Peterborough is free. Great for the young and young at heart. We've strolled around here many times to check out all the cute animals and taken a ride on their train!

This vineyard is an 11 minute drive from the venue. It's a beautiful spot for a glass of wine and some wood-fired pizza overlooking their vineyards.

If you feel like losing some money, this casino is a 4-minute drive from the hotel.
