From what started out as a simple hello (from Victoria, it was Bumble after all!), to talking for months in the summer of 2017, he finally asked her out for a drink on a Friday night and she said yes!
Their first date on September 22nd, 2017 quickly turned into a 6 hour first date that started with ping pong at Dahlia’s Pour House, followed by stops at the Garage, Rogue, and Kickbacks, and ultimately ended with a kiss to the cheers of witnesses on Post St. That very next day, he reached out to her first thing in the morning to ask if she wanted to get dinner and play mini golf.
These were the first days of being inseparable.
The first year consisted of many firsts together: first vacation (Boca Raton), first concert (Rascal Flatts), first NHL game (go Lightning!), first theme park (Busch Gardens), first Ikea shopping trip (building furniture together is the biggest test to any relationship), and first puppy (the sweetest goldendoodle named Nova). As time passed, they truly got to know each other. Andrew learned that Victoria is patient, ambitious, strong-willed and a tad bit stubborn. Victoria learned that Andrew is laid-back, competitive, has the biggest heart, and always puts her first. The most important thing they learned was that they both found what they had been looking for in their forever person. The qualities that Victoria is missing and has always wanted, Andrew has and vice versa. They completely balance each other out. They both agree that they aren’t perfect, but they are perfect for each other.
Every month, they trade off planning a “blind” date night for the other, complete with a blindfold and all. Sometimes it’s dinner and a movie, other times it’s adventurous like rock climbing or ice skating. On September 7th 2019, it was his turn to plan the blind date for her. She knew they were going to St. Augustine, but she didn’t know any of the details. After walking down St. George Street, making a quick stop in a hot sauce shop (his favorite), grabbing a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone from Kilwin’s (her favorite), he took her to the fort, Castillo de San Marcos. After a failed attempt to get on top of a wall to “get a better view of the water,” he walked her to the front of the fort, told her that he doesn’t imagine his life without her, and asked her if she would make him the luckiest guy in the world by being his wife. Of course, she said yes!
These past 3 years have just been the beginning. A story of adventure, excitement, understanding, balance, joy, teamwork, silliness, seriousness, but above all, love. You’ve all watched us grow, both independently and together, and it honors us to have you there for the next chapter of our story.
