When people ask us this question, rather than go into detail and try to explain, we usually answer “online!” because these days that is a totally normal thing. For us, though, it wasn’t a dating website, because neither of us was looking for a relationship! Truth be told, we are closet computer nerds, and met online playing a computer game called World of Warcraft. And yes, we still play it together. :-P

We get asked this a lot, mostly because people know (or discover) neither of us have family here, aside from our children. Long story short: When we first met, Matt was in Colorado and I was in Minnesota. I wasn’t able to move to Colorado, so Matt made the move to Minnesota. Jayden, Avery, and Sophia joined us shortly after that!

We have six children between the two of us - three girls and three boys - Whitney, Roman, Alexxus, Jayden, Avery, and Sophia. We often joke that we have “27 kids”, because it most definitely feels that way sometimes! With all the activities for the four who live with us full time, it can be daunting! We sometimes refer to our little fam as the Richardson Circus…with Matt as the ringleader! :P

We have two German Shepherds, Enzo and Onyxia. Tori used to breed German Shepherds, and Enzo came with her into the relationship, but Ony was an addition to our family about two and a half years ago! We love dogs, and sometimes think about getting another German Shepherd if there is ever a lull in the chaos of our life! Some other fave breeds on our short list include Alaskan Malamute and Shiba Inu!

Short answer: Garage Door Viking! A bit more detail: Tori is a Registered Nurse. She worked a little in pediatric home health and Med Surg when she lived in Texas, but her passion is Labor & Delivery, and she worked in that specialty at Mayo Clinic in Red Wing for almost 7 years. Today we work together building our company, Garage Door Viking! It’s a labor of love, but seeing it grow and prosper has been amazing.

We plan to take one, yes, but right now building and growing our business is more than a full time job and occupies all of the time and energy that we have left after the kids and dogs! Nothing has been officially planned, but a few ideas we have tossed around are taking a cruise and going to Germany! Matt has always wanted to drive on the Nurburgring, and I have some German ancestry and a friend who is from there, so we think it would be so fun to go check it out!
