We have been coming to Big Sur since we first started dating (and even on some school field trips together!) and it has remained one of our favorite places. Here are some fun things to check out while you are in the area.
Salmon Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the southern portion of Big Sur that is only a short distance off the road but that features an unmaintained hike to get to its base. Also one of the first date spots for us!
Hearst Castle, is a historic estate in San Simeon, located on the Central Coast of California. Conceived by William Randolph Hearst, the publishing tycoon, and his architect Julia Morgan, the castle was built between 1919 and 1947.
The sushi bar is for Treebones Resort guests only. The sushi bar incorporates the high quality seafood and locally harvested herbs and seasonings, many of which from Treebones’ own organic garden.
Sand Dollar Beach is a short walk from Plaskett Creek Campground - it is a true gem! Great views of the coastline and good waves.
Viewing is open to the public free of charge from the Elephant Seal Boardwalk. It is an ideal location from which to view the seals from a safe distance, and docents are on site to answer questions.
Book a massage or healing arts pass and gain access to the Esalen grounds including the hot springs from 8:30 am – 8:00 pm.
