One of Virginia and Joe's favorite haunts on Shore Drive for great coffee and food is the Lynnhaven Coffee Shop. Their go-to orders are the peanut butter banana flatbread, BLT on a bagel, and lattes. This spot is near the hotel and along the Cape Henry Trail leading into the First Landing State Park. Grab a coffee and explore the park!
Another local breakfast favorite is Bay Local Eatery. Also nearby the hotel, this spot has great seafood and giant mimosas to share.
This local diner is a great, affordable spot with a quintessential family diner atmosphere and great omelets.
This is a great location for food and drinks. Located on the water, this spot also has several different bars located inside.
The Porch is another great dinner option, also located on the water. They serve a variety of food options and have a stunning view.
For fun with the family and kids, try out Jungle Golf near the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. This is (in Virginia's biased opinion) the best mini golf spot in the area.
What better place to explore in Virginia Beach than the boardwalk? We recommend parking at the Rudee Loop parking lot on First Street, which will take you right by the Boardwalk and Grommet Island Park on the beach.
First Landing State Park is walking distance from the hotel, if using the Cape Henry Trail, and offers beach access, camping, and hiking trails. This is a go-to spot for Virginia and Joe's hikes with their dog, Cowboy.
Located near the Oceanfront is the Virginia Beach Aquarium, a fun spot for the whole family.
Though located in Norfolk, the Virginia Zoo is a fairly close attraction that Joe and Virginia love to frequent on a nice day.
