ALEX & JANIE'S STORY

Janie and Al met six years ago in 2016 at a college party in Kalamazoo. They were wedged together in the corner of the room where they ended up talking for hours. even though Janie went back to Ohio and Alex was in Michigan, they ended up talking every single day and haven't missed a day since then. They did long-distance during Janie's junior and senior year - lots of time and miles spent in a car - but after Janie graduated she moved to Rochester Hills while Alex finished at Oakland University so they could be closer. She started out living with her sister, but Alex basically became their third roommate, and after Katie moved the two got an apartment together. Janie subsequently moved to Indianapolis to attend law school, and Alex made the move down a year later so they could be together. Here they are, three years later, loving living in Indy with their puppers, Winston! The pair have had an eventful and amazing six years together. They count themselves beyond lucky and are so excited for the many years to come :)

Our Engagement

On December 21, Alex surprised Janie in Winnetka where she was spending Christmas with her family. Janie thought she was going to their church to take pictures of her sister and brother-in-law in front of Christmas lights, but once they got to the church Alex stepped out from behind a pillar - filled with shock, excitement, and some nerves, the two just stared at each other with huge smiles for a full minute. Alex then got down on a knee and asked Janie to marry him, to which of course she said yes!! They got to head back to Janie's grandmother's house to celebrate with some family members (we wish it could've been all of our families). It truly was a perfect evening and start to our forever!

The bus will pick up from the hotel at 3:30 p.m., and will make a second trip if necessary. The bus will then transport guests from the church to the reception. Starting at 10:00 p.m., the bus will begin making rounds back to the hotel and after party. What is the appropriate attire for the ceremony and reception?We request you dress in formal attire for the wedding ceremony and reception, such as dresses, skirts, and suits &amp; ties. The ceremony will be inside, however at this time, the reception will be held outside on the Skokie Country Club terrace. The weather is supposed to be 65F and sunny during the day, dropping into the upper 50s at night. Please plan accordingly! What does "country club casual" attire for the brunch mean?Per the Glen View Club attire policy, guests must dress in country club casual attire. This means for gentlemen: slacks, Bermuda length shorts, polo shirts, button down shirts, sweaters, and appropriate sportswear and for ladies: appropriate slacks, shirts, capris, sweaters, and appropriate sportswear.
