It all started back in 2017 when Virginia tagged along with her cousin, Julia Ruth, to play a game of tennis with Ben in Auburn. Over the years, Virginia, as she continued to spend time with Julia Ruth, saw Ben again on several more occasions.

Fast forward to late summer of 2023, Julia Ruth realized that Virginia and Ben shared faith as well as common values and interests. Upon this realization, Julia Ruth played the game of matchmaker and suggested to Ben that he should make efforts to get to know Virginia better.

At the end of July of last summer, Ben, Virginia, and Julia Ruth spent time together on two separate occasions at Lake Martin in Alabama. After Ben left the lake to drive back to Birmingham, Virginia commented to Julia Ruth that she thought she had met her husband.

The following weekend, Ben called Virginia and asked her to go on a date. Ben was so eager to go on this date with Virginia that instead of waiting until the end of the week to take her out, he asked to go that coming Monday.

After talking for hours on end on the first date, they both felt "at home" with each other immediately. There were only two more dates to follow before Ben and Virginia started officially dating, and they both realized very quickly that they wanted to share a future together.

Ben proposed to Virginia on January 20th, 2024 on her favorite piece of land in Elmore County, Alabama! The happy couple cannot wait to be united as one in Christ on August 10th, and are looking forward to celebrating with their dearest friends and family!
