What is the currency in Mexico?
The Mexican peso is the local currency, but USD is widely accepted for tipping. Credit cards are also accepted at most resorts and tourist areas. Do bring some pesos just in case.

Yes, you will need a passport to fly into Mexico. If you don't have a passport. Processing times can vary depending on the workload of the passport agency, but routine service typically takes 6-8 weeks. Expedited service is available for an additional fee, which takes 2-3 weeks. Please note that these times are estimates and may change, so it's best to check the official government website for the most up-to-date information
What is the closest Airport?
There are two airports that have about the same estimated time to get to Playa Del Carmen. Cancun International Airport is the most common airport since it is on the main land. However, there is Cozumel International Airport which is just a 45 minute ferry away on an island close by.
How do I get to Playa del Carmen from cancun?
We recommend you book a private transfer or shuttle service in advance (this can be booked with your resort). If you are unable to schedule a private shuttle service, the next recommendation would be the ADO buses. Tickets for the ADO bus can be purchased at the airport or online. We do not recommend booking a rental car, unless you speak fluent Spanish. If you decide on calling a taxi, please take them with caution. There will not be a meter in the taxi, therefore they can make up their own prices. However, they will always tell you the cost before you get inside the car. As a safer alternative, we recommend the DIDI app. The DIDI app is similar to Uber with the transparency of the cost of the trip (Uber is not popular yet). Regardless, it might take 45 minutes to an hour to get to your final destination.
How do I get to Playa del Carmen from cozumel?
Since Cozumel is an island it will be about a 30-45 minute ferry ride to get on the main land (prices and time can be found online). We recommend you book a private transfer or shuttle service in advance (this can be booked with your resort). Alternatively at the airport you can get a ticket for a shared van. You want to make sure to buy a ticket for the Playa del Carmen pier. Once you arrive at the pier, buy a one way ticket (there will be different times and ferries available for your return). After you reach the main land, you can take a taxi or attempt to use the DIDI app to get to your final destination. If you attempt to take a taxi, walk a little bit further from the pick up spot near the pier, their prices might drop lower (again they make up their own prices).
Do I have to stay at the same resort?
We want to thank you again for joining us in Playa del Carmen to celebrate our special day! We understand that everyone has different budgets and preferences when it comes to accommodations. We will be staying at The Reef Coco Beach.
Please don't feel obligated to stay at the same resort as us - we want you to choose the option that best fits your needs and budget. However, we do recommend staying at one of the following resorts listed on the lodging page, as they are in close proximity.
Staying nearby will make it easier for us to coordinate transportation for the wedding day, and we'd love to have you all close by to enjoy the celebrations together!
What should I wear to the wedding?
As we prepare to celebrate our special day, we want to ensure that you're comfortable and stylish throughout the festivities!
Please dress formally, but with comfort in mind, as our wedding will take place outdoors near the beach in a hot and humid climate. In March, the average daily temperature in Playa del Carmen ranges from around 24°C (75°F) to 30°C (86°F). The nights can be slightly cooler, with temperatures dropping to around 19°C (66°F). We recommend: Lightweight, breathable fabrics (cotton, linen, or silk), Pastel or light-colored attire to reflect the sun's rays (please avoid white or ivory), Comfortable shoes or sandals (you may want to consider a change of shoes for the reception), A light sweater or shawl for evening.
Remember, our goal is for you to feel relaxed and enjoy the celebration with us!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
What is your wedding theme?
Our wedding theme is inspired by the breathtaking beauty of sunsets at the beach. Please feel free to wear vibrate colors that match the theme.
Can I bring an additional guest?
We kindly request that you refrain from bringing any non-invited guests. Our venue has a limited capacity, and we want to ensure that everyone who attends is someone we've personally invited.
Can I bring my kids?
Our wedding is a teen and adult-only celebration. We love babies and little kids, but we've decided to make this event exclusively for a mature group. With the exception of our siblings, niece, and nephew.
Should I be concerned about mosquitos?
Mosquitos thrive in the tropical environment. Please note that our venue and reception will be outdoors. As mosquitos tend to be active in the evening, we will have citronella candles placed throughout the decor to help keep them at bay. We also recommend applying mosquito repellent before attending for added comfort.
What should I pack?
Besides your formal attire for the wedding. Do consider bringing lightweight clothing, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, water shoes and comfortable shoes.
Should I learn spanish before the trip?
In the tourist areas it is common for the locals to speak both English and Spanish. If you do venture outside of a tourist area, it is recommended to know some very basics like where is the bathroom? OR do you speak English? Other then that you should be okay.
Can I drink the water in Mexico?
No, the tap water is not drinkable. It's recommended to drink bottled or filtered water to avoid any potential health issues.
