We initially met in December 2012 in San Diego California where Vivien was visiting her friend Anna and her then boyfriend Lance for new year’s. Kyle does not remember this encounter but Vivien remembers she was a bit taken with him, his knowledge around sushi making and his strong opinions on kitchen knives.

Years went by and a lot happened in both our lives. Some of it was good and some of it was not that great. Some of it was even really bad.

But, in October 2024 everything changed when we met on a Saturday in Washington DC at the Congress library. Vivien was visiting Anna and Lance and little Pandora for Halloween and they all met up with Kyle for a day out in the USA capital. A few days after we met again at the Smisthonian Natural History museum where Kyle was a gentleman and walked around with Vivien for hours. This is where we discovered that actually we are quite similar, love museums, gems and science.

Kyle was extremely brave and messaged Vivien a few days after she had returned to London in November. We started messaging each other every day and our messages were so long and dense it took us hours to read and respond to them.

We officially became a couple on 11th February 2024 on the night of the Super Bowl and have been inseparable ever since. Even though a big, vast ocean separates us we love each other so much, care for each other deeply and travel to each other every month to be together.

Kyle proposed to Vivien on 28th June 2024 at the last show of Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House in London in front of hundreds of people. We’ve been planning our wedding and future together since.

We are so thankful to have found each other and we can’t wait to live our lives together forever.
