Are Plus-Ones and Children allowed?

We kindly ask that you only RSVP for the amount of people (including children) that were listed for you on your RSVP card (or that you find online here).

What time should I get there?

The ceremony starts at 4:00 PM, so we recommend arriving between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM.

Driving in the area

We just want to call out that Caribou Bay Retreat is in Amish country, so please be careful when driving in the area to watch for slow moving wagons and people walking. Also, there is a ton of wildlife in the area. Watch for deer and other critters!

Where should I park?

Please refer to the map above. When you turn into the Caribou Bay driveway, steer toward the right at the fork and proceed into the Caribou Bay gravel parking lot (marked in red on the map above). There will be signs with arrows to direct you.

Where should I go after I park my car?

First, feel free to enter the reception hall to use the restroom if needed after your drive. There will be two options for heading to the outdoor ceremony site. Please refer to the map above. 1.) Elderly and disabled folks may wait in the parking lot at a designated spot (not shown on map, but will be apparent when you're there) to be transported by the property owners (by vehicle) along the yellow highlighted route to the ceremony site. Please do not drive your own vehicle(s) along the yellow highlighted route because would be against the property owners' wishes.2 2.) If you are able to walk to the site, which involves slight inclines, and about 150 yards of walking, the path will be well marked. Able guests should walk along the blue highlighted route with pink footprints marking a walking path from the parking lot to the ceremony hill site. The walking path will take you through the fire pit area next to the reception building, past the front of the lodge, over a flat walking bridge, gently uphill with easily manageable stairs, where you may then find an usher to help you find a seat at the ceremony site.

Dress Code?

We're not big "code" people, so wear what you feel comfy and happy in. If you enjoy taking cues though, our palette is many jewel tones with punches of bright colors, and we would love for you to participate if you want!. (Examples below).

Will you be accepting gifts and/or cards?

Your presence is of most value to us. However, if you wish to give a gift, you may bring a card or find various registries in the "Registry" tab of our wedding website. There will be a designated place within the reception area for gifts, cash, and cards.

What if it rains?

We have planned an outdoor ceremony (see the "Ceremony Hillsite" on the pictured map above). However, if there's a high change of rain in the forecast, we will pivot and have the ceremony inside the reception building where there is still plenty of space.

Where are the bathrooms?

There are two bathrooms (one toilet per bathroom) inside the reception building. Additionally, there will be two disabled-friendly flushable porta-potty restrooms right outside the reception building that are each equipped with handwashing setup. There is also one port-a-potty near the ceremony site.

Do I need to bring any cash (for the bar)?

All drinks are on us! However, we still highly recommend bringing some tip money for our nice bartender named Ryan!

May I leave my vehicle parked at Caribou Bay overnight?

Short answer: yes, if needed. But it is imperative that your vehicle is gone by 10:00 AM Sunday. Please be safe, and if needed, we will find you a ride.

Is it okay to post wedding photos on social media?

We kindly ask that you refrain from posting pictures to your social media without first getting our consent :)

Is it okay to take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking any photos during our ceremony because we trust our photographers to do their work AND because we want you to be in some of these treasured photos! However, after the ceremony please take as many pictures as you would like! We would love for you to send your best shots to us after the wedding, and we will provide an easy way to do that.

Will there be a shuttle to/from nearby hotels?

We do not have a shuttle service set up, so we do ask that you have a plan to get back to your lodging safely. However, if you still find yourself in need of a ride, please tell any member in our family and we will figure out a safe ride for you.

How is the cellphone service at Caribou Bay?

Cellphone reception is very poor in this area. You can expect 0 to 1 bar of reception on your phone, so please plan accordingly. You may be able to capture a sliver or two of wifi if you walk near the lodge on the property. When leaving the property to go travel home, once you turn out of the driveway and head a minute or two in either direction, you should then be able to pick up normal cell reception.
