Matt and Whitney had the opportunity to be friends for years prior to dating. They met through mutual friends 17 years ago and would see each other a few times a year at social events. Whitney always had a secret crush on Matt, but they were never single at the same time. Matt's charismatic personality always stood out in social settings. Finally, the stars aligned for them. At a kid's birthday party, they were sitting on a blanket, and they had their first kiss. Two kids interrupted their magical moment by plopping down on the blanket. One said they were "acting weird," and the two kids scurried off to play with friends. They did not realize what they were secretly up too.

They started texting consistently, but Matt wasn't asking her out. Whitney finally asked, "Do you want to take me on a date or what?" Their first date was finally set. Whitney attended a birthday party earlier that day, and all her friends were begging her to stay, but this was one date she didn't want to miss. Matt took her to the Packing House, and they had an amazing first date. Matt wined and dined her, sprinkled with a lot of lighthearted humor.

They quickly realized they had a lot in common: their love for travel, live music, art, comedy, and history. Both are family oriented people who shared the dream of creating their own family someday. Although they have much in common, they also have many differences: fear of heights, love of theatre, action movies, and dancing.

They have now spent 9 years together, creating many life-long experiences. They've had the amazing opportunity to travel. Ca They've traveled throughout California and been to thirteen other states together.

International trips were also on their agenda. They white water rafted and pet monkeys and elephants in Thailand. Went to the bacardi factory and canoed in the bioluminescent Bay in Puerto Rico. Ziplined (not Whitney, she stayed with the baby) and enjoyed a waterfall in Puerto Vallarta. Their most recent trip was to Costa Rica to plan their wedding for all of our friends and family to enjoy.

Their biggest adventure by far was having two incredible boys: Mathias and Theo. Fortunately, both of their "little maniacs" are thriving after being born premature. Mathias is a social, silly, and loving little man. He loves being a big brother and gives Theo kisses constantly. Theo is the sweetest baby that demands individual attention. Theo's smile and dimple chin could melt any heart.

The love and support from their friends and family has strengthened their bond. With all of this support, they decided to make the commitment of marriage. Wish them luck. They may need it. 😜
