Ryan and Whitney reconnected over Facebook in December of 2023. What was expected to be two old high school friends catching up over a drink at longhorn steakhouse, turned into exactly what both of them had been praying for! It took a total of 3 dates for them to both know that this relationship was different from any they had been a part of in the past. Their goals for the future were aligned, their commitment to their children were evident, and both had a strong desire for a healthy relationship built on Faith, Respect, and teamwork.

Fast forward two months and they hopped on a cruise ship to the Bahamas! This trip really solidified their love. The week with no cell service, no chauffeuring kids to and from sports, and no responsibilities was a much-needed rest for their souls. The past had taken a toll, but the future was finally looking bright!

In June they took the children on their first family vacation. The kids loved each other from the day they met, but sharing a home for a week was the turning point changing them from friends to family. So many great memories were made and they returned home feeling like a real family.

In August Ryan planned a weekend getaway to Red River Gorge. Although people who know Whitney well would maybe question his decision for an outdoorsy "romantic" hike in the woods (which in all honestly pushed her WAY passed her limit and caused her to google the cost of a helicopter out of the forest). The hike, which ended in a proposal, was perfectly planned! Ryan proposed at Creation falls, which will now always be their favorite "outdoorsy" spot. (As you can imagine, that is a very short list)

All of the kids were so excited to hear the news of the engagement! October 18 will be here before they know it. It's now their turn for their happily ever after.
