Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Whitney and Tyler both attended Seneca Valley, Tyler being the grade above Whitney. While their paths only crossed slightly (in remedial Reading class in 1st and 2nd grade), the two always knew about each other. Tyler had made a plan to ask Whitney out years later after high school. Whitney was working at the Primanti Brothers in town and Tyler went in one day with the intention to ask her out. Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned due to Whitney not wanting to be there and her coming across, as Tyler describes it, "pissed off". So Tyler abandoned his plan and instead just asked Whitney if he could buy a six-pack of Yuengling beer and went home. A few years after that, the two reconnected and finally went out of their first date. They met at a local Thai restaurant for lunch and ended up sitting there for hours talking (and multiple missed phone calls from Whitney's mom thinking she got kidnapped). A month or so went by and after multiple dates and Whitney's brother, Brandon, interrogating Tyler; Tyler finally asked Whitney to be his girlfriend (on her dad's birthday). About a year into their relationship they got their first apartment together in Bloomfield and in 2023 welcomed a sweet, baby puppy into their little family. On September 18th, 2023; Tyler finally popped the question and asked Whitney to marry him. Prior to this, Whitney had told Tyler what she'd like when he proposed. She wanted it in a private setting, in October with her hair, makeup, and nails done and to have not ate or drank anything so she didn't look bloated in pictures. Tyler sort of listened. He wanted to surprise Whitney so he decided to do it in a month she wasn't expecting but he did make sure her hair, makeup, and nails were done! He had her two friends, Emily and Tanner, take her out to lunch (where they ate pizza and drank Negronis) and then drop her off back at the apartment. When Whitney walked in (holding a leftover pizza box), she saw red rose petals all over the floor. Whitney assumed their dog, Olive, had gotten into something and made a mess. When Whitney turned the corner she saw Tyler standing in their living room dressed in a suit, surrounded by more rose petals and candles everywhere. It finally clicked in Whitney's head what was going on. Tyler had to ask Whitney to set down the pizza box and come stand with him. Then, he finally got down on one knee and asked Whitney to marry him and now here we are! We look forward to sharing these upcoming moments and celebrating our love with those closest to us!
