The story of Whitney and Garrett is not as straight forward as some love stories, but its end destination is the same. Whitney and Garrett met during their first year of Physical Therapy School at TWU. Their first conversation was in a place that was not absent of heart, the cadaver lab. Garrett poked fun at Whitney for wearing her mask backwards, which began the first of what would be thousands of sarcastic remarks and jokes between the two. Whitney and Garrett began as friends, but it was obvious to anyone around them that they were meant to be together. After a year of close friends rolling their eyes, saying “will you two just be together already!?”, G asked whit to be his girlfriend.

A doctoral program, three cities, one cat, one dog, a year of long distance, and a million laughs later, Garrett found himself on one knee in front of Whitney as they stood at the peak of Awa’awapuhi trail in Kauai, HI... and with the most wondrous years of their lives lying before them, she said YES!
