We first met on the sunny shores of Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana as campers attending Culver Summer Schools and Camps in 2014. Montana was in her last year, bullying Will, who was starting his first year. We later returned in the summers of 2017 and 2018 as summer staff during which we became close friends. Years passed and in summer 2021, Montana was in Fort Worth working a horse show and Will was interning in Dallas. Will reached out to catch up with an old friend and they met at the horse show and had dinner after. Will decided to come back to the horse show the next day, and the day after that... From there, we decided to begin dating. We started out long distance as Will was finishing his degree at Purdue University and Montana was living in Columbus, OH. Once Will had graduated, he had an offer to move down to St. Petersburg, FL and decided he wanted Montana to come with. We moved in together in St. Petersburg, FL and lived there for about a year and half, enjoying the sunshine state and traveling all over the East Coast together. Midway through 2023, we decided we had spent enough time in Florida and moved to Culver, IN for a year while deciding where to go next. A cold winter was spent in Culver which was the polar opposite from when we had first met, and in 2024, we decided to move to Colorado! Before we packed up our U-Haul and made the drive West, we took a stroll down the North Shore of Lake Maxinkuckee at where we had first met. Reminiscing on times passed at Culver, serendipitously getting to pet a horse by the Naval Building, and getting chills as we walked through the famous Sally Port, where Will got on one knee and asked Montana to marry him. While Sally Port was torn down after the proposal, we will forever have the memory of having the last event at the original Culver Sally Port - our favorite Culver Summer memory.
