Our story together started at the University of Wisconsin-Superior where we both played college hockey. Will had always thought of Sam as one of the most fun and best people to be around at the rink, campus, and parties, but never had the courage to truly talk to her.

In the Spring semester of 2019, Sam's senior year and Will's freshman year (junior hockey problems), we actually sat by each other in a biology class we were both forced to take for credits. We didn't really talk to each other in person in that class and Sam must have been a bit nervous as she switched spots after a day or two of class away from Will!

Will then sneakily asked a mutual friend for Sam's number as he had a "Question about biology class", which I think anyone who knows Will knows he did not care about learning more in biology.

After successfully landing the phone number, Sam and Will began hanging out some more and getting to know each other better. When Sam's graduation day came around the duo was unsure about what came next! After a blast of a summer spending time in Champlin, MN and Elk River, MN (the hometowns), it was time to take on long distance for the first time.

We worked hard at making it work as we both knew we had something special. Sam made countless trips up to "Souptown" for Will's hockey games and logged hundreds of miles back and forth throughout the school years.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, it was a blessing for us to be able to both be back home and living closer together. We made the most of it by spending a lot of time together walking the Blake family's dog, playing tennis, and roller blading.

After a couple more years and many weekend memories in Superior together, it was Will's turn to graduate and get back to living in Minneapolis. It only took about 4 months after graduation for us to realize it was time to move in together and we did just that in November 2022.

We spent our first year of being roommates learning even more about each other as well as becoming closer than ever. We learned that Sam does not like to take out the trash (Will's job), and Will doesn't like to fold laundry (Sam's job) and many other little things you learn quickly when living with your best friend.

In October of 2023, Will got down on one knee and asked Sam to marry him. A magical day that we knew was bound to happen 4 and a half years earlier up in Superior, WI when we went and got burgers together on a random night for our first date.

And that brings us to present day, the "Engagement Phase", where we spend a lot of time planning the wedding of our dreams and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.
