The beautiful southern Texas girl meets the rugged Colorado mountain boy. Sometimes God just works better than we could ever have imagined. Will and Allie met at Redeemer Lutheran Church soon after the Pilgrims moved from Arlington, Texas, to Timnath, Colorado. They were elementary school kids at the time, so being in a relationship was a term that was foreign. Allie met Will's dad first, as he was her Sunday school teacher. They really started to notice each other when they started high school. Believe it or not, they both liked each other for years before they even started talking to each other. Will has always thought she was beautiful, so she caught his eye quick and made quite the impression. For whatever reason, Will caught Allie's eye as well. (If you couldn't tell Will is writing this.) Will first asked Allie out in August of 2020. Things didn't take off then, so they just talked for a little bit and then slowly faded away from each other. But God always works everything out according to His will. Will worked as an electrician in the fall months of 2023, and they began talking again. This time something felt different. They were older, a little more mature, and a little more sure of what they wanted and who they were. This time the talking stuck. Will was always scared that Allie didn't like him back, so he played things cautious. But he also respected Allie and wanted her to be as comfortable as she could be. During a Thanksgiving party with his friends, Will contemplated formally asking her to hang out to make his intentions more clear. And of course his friends stole his phone and sent the text for him. But praise God for that because it all worked out. Will and Allie started to slowly see each other more and more, until Will asked her to be his Valentine and go on a real date. They had that date in March 2023 and it took him all the way till the end of May to ask her to be his girlfriend. A year and a couple months fly by, and Will already has the ring he wants to give to the love of his life. And the best part is that she had no idea. August 11th, Allie's birthday, marks the day they got engaged. It all leads to the day we will say yes to forever, to each other, and to God, July 18th. Thanks for reading our story.
