If you'd like to take a walk along the Willamette River, go on a run, or immerse yourself in the closest thing to nature Salem has to offer, this is a beautiful park with lots of trails and a dog park! Free parking and free views.
Excellent and small winery with great tastings, charcuterie, and lovely views.
While not as grand as Portland's Saturday market, there are still plenty of great eats and local items to buy at Salem's market. Walk around, get some coffee, see some dogs. We'd especially recommend Syrian Kitchen - the best baklava you've ever had, and it's owned by the family of two former students of Kenzie's.
If you're in the mood to get some great coffee (or drinks) while exploring downtown, this coffee shop/bar is an excellent place to go. It's also on the same block as a candy store and a used bookstore that has a bookstore cat - what more could you want?
A small theme park right off of I-5 that is sure to have some charm. And good theme park food.
If you'd like Saturday or Sunday brunch, we cannot recommend any place more than Word of Mouth! Warning - the waits are long and the portions are huge, but we promise it's worth it!
