Our Wedding

Will and Sydney met through the University of Minnesota marching band. During their senior year, they happened to be next to each other for a portion of 6 of the 7 halftime shows. After several months of flirting on the field, Will finally worked up the courage to ask Sydney out on a date (she said yes). On December 15th, 2022, they walked through a blizzard to Blue Door Pub on campus. Shortly after their first date, Will and Sydney went to New York with the marching band to cheer on the Gophers in the Pinstripe Bowl. They ended up sitting by each other on the bus and never ran out of things to talk about, despite being stuck for hours in New York traffic. Over the next year and a half, they bonded over their shared love of downhill skiing, hiking, musicals, Gopher sports, and Jesus. They've enjoyed winter ski trips to Welch Village and Big Powderhorn Mountain, hiking at various state parks, musical outings to Hamilton and Aladdin, several Gopher football and hockey games, spending time with their church small group, and encouraging each other in their faith. In the summer of 2024, Will and Sydney got to experience travelling with each other's families for vacations in Lake of the Ozarks and Colorado. After over 50 hours of (Will) driving across these trips, they still hadn't run out of things to talk about. On November 8th, 2024, Will asked Sydney to go for a walk by Medicine Lake. While walking past the beach, Will suggested going closer to the water, where he proceeded to propose. Sydney said yes, and they can't wait to celebrate their marriage in August!

Things to Do

Tessa and Sydney have been friends since the first day of band camp freshman year. Thanks to a spontaneous conversation with their dads (who had known each other for years) on that day, several years of friendship, running, and late-night rom-coms followed.

Luke is one of Will's brothers. They both played in the University of Minnesota Marching Band, and enjoy playing baseball, downhill skiing, and making fun of each other.

Karisa and Sydney got to know each other through the campus ministry Cru, where they were in the same Bible study their sophomore year, which led to being roommates for the next two years. They've bonded over Taylor Swift, tearing apart the Bachelor franchise, and the impact of Cenex in small town USA.

Nate is also one of Will's brothers. They both played in the University of Minnesota Marching Band. Nate and Will enjoy bonding over their shared love of baseball, downhill skiing, nerdy trivia and esoteric factoids.

Grace and Sydney also met through the Cru sophomore Bible study and are former roommates. While they love lazy activities like binge-watching Castle, they also enjoyed a weekend adventure running Ragnar from St. Paul to Duluth.

Austin and Will have been friends since they met during All-State band camp in 2018. They were roommates every year during college and enjoyed playing together in the University of Minnesota Marching Band trumpet section.

Dorothy and Sydney became friends through both marching band and Cru! They share a love of Hallmark movies and Taylor Swift - they even traveled to Indianapolis for the Eras Tour!

Isaac and Will have been friends since they met in kindergarten. They enjoy going to Minnesota Twins games, golfing, and cheering on the Vikings.

Isaac Peterson

Lauren and Sydney met through Cru back in 2019 and have been friends ever since! They enjoy watching football (either the Gophers or NFL) and spending days at the lake.

Lauren Finch

Landon is Sydney's younger brother. Will and Landon enjoy golfing, downhill skiing and talking about college football (especially the Big 10).
