<p style="text-align: left;"> William: We met at Lowe’s—she was working the overnight shift, and I was out in the garden center, probably getting dirty and covered in mulch. We started hanging out, going on a few dates, and really enjoying each other’s company. Since I had a deployment coming up, we thought it would be best to wait until I got back to make anything official.  Well, that plan didn’t last long! We couldn’t wait, so we decided to make it official in November 2022!  Lily: We spent every moment together before William's deployment. I stayed awake to be with him even on days when I should have been resting before my overnight shift, and his mother would tease us, saying, “I know you want to spend time together, but let the poor girl sleep.” I didn’t mind; I knew our time was limited.  William: After I left in February, she switched from night shifts to day shifts in April, which made it easier to stay connected. FaceTime became our daily routine, and it was something we both looked forward to.  Lily: Nine months apart is challenging for any couple, but we were confident that this deployment would strengthen our future. Learning to communicate through texting and FaceTime for most of the year laid a solid foundation for us.  William: When I finally got back, we took a trip to Disney. I knew it was the perfect place to propose. Between all the fun and lots of sit-down restaurant breaks, I popped the question—and she said yes! Now we’re here, ready for the next big adventure together, and this time, a little less covered in dirt! <br /></p>
