Our Wedding

How we got here...

February 1st 2021 - It all started like every other love story nowadays.... through a dating app (Hinge).... Where Krissy actually made the first move. February 9th 2021 - Our first date. Nothing too fancy simple drinks and dinner that turned into a 4 hour conversation about life and then the most awkward kiss that should have never landed Will another date... April 24th 2021 - Krissy finally bent the knee after rejecting Will previously about making it official. May 14th 2021 - Will Moved to Florida for school... So began the long distance relationship... October 3rd 2021 - During a visit from Krissy to Florida we adopted our first son (cat) Captain Jack. May 30th 2022 - Krissy moves in with Will and his roommate (Devart) in Florida. November 6th 2023 - We adopt our second son (cat) Iron Man. November 23rd 2023 - We got engaged in London on Thanksgiving. Where the most bland "yes" was said, thankfully the photos show the true excitement. December 17th 2023 - Moved to Philly after Will graduated to be closer to work and family. February 21st 2025 - Moved back to northern Virginia!

The Big Question: Why London?

Short Answer: Because why not... Long Answer: We started to do the traditional wedding planning stuff and that lasted about 5 minutes and turned into "let's just elope". We then set off to plan a little elopement for ourselves and when deciding on a place we chose London because this was the place we got engaged, so why not make it official there also.We started to let people know our plan and we were astonished by the amount of feedback we received from people that said they would love to be a part of it.&nbsp;So that brings us to where we are now. We have decided that we will have a small wedding instead of a true elopement.

Do I need a passport / visa?

You will need a passport to travel to London. Please make sure that if you plan to come and do not have one, you start the process to get yours ASAP, as it can take a few months to receive it.As for a Visa, at this moment US Citizens do not need one. BUT in 2025 This could change. The UK government is currently Digitalizing their boarders and will start requiring people to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA). This is a simple process costs 10 pounds. Once again as of right now you do not need to apply. We will keep people updated if this changes.

What will the weather be like there?

London in late March typically experiences mild weather as spring begins to take hold. You can expect temperatures to range between 8°C (46°F) and 15°C (59°F). While it can be a bit chilly, it’s often comfortable with a mix of sunny spells and occasional showers. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket or umbrella just in case. Keep an eye on the forecast as the date approaches for the most accurate prediction.

What do we wear to the wedding?

We request that our guests wear formal or cocktail attire to our wedding. For men, a suit and tie or a smart blazer with dress pants is perfect—no need for tuxedos. For women, a cocktail dress, evening gown, or a chic outfit would be great. We want everyone to feel comfortable, so choose something you’ll enjoy wearing. Given the cooler weather in London at the end of March, you might also want to bring a stylish coat or wrap.

Can my children come?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children at our wedding. The venue where we will be hosting dinner has a policy that does not allow anyone under the age of 16 after a certain time. We appreciate your understanding and hope you can still join us for our special day.

Our Travel Plans

We will be traveling to London on Tuesday March 25th and arriving Wednesday March 26th in the morning. (We love the overnight flight because you do not feel the effects of jet lag as much). We will be staying at the Canopy by Hilton London City. This hotel is located near an underground stop for easy transportation and also down the street from Tower bridge. We will be leaving for our honeymoon the day after our wedding on March 29th.

Accommodations

We have not blocked rooms for our wedding because there was no price difference and understand that many people will have other adventures outside of our wedding so feel free to stay wherever you feel comfortable. London is very easy to get around. Another option other than a hotel is to look at Airbnb or bookings.com to find other rental options. Below we listed our hotel and the hotel across the street for reference of where we will be staying. If you need any help or suggestions feel free to reach out to us.

Flights

As far as flights go, here are some references for the different areas that people are from. For our Philly people: There are plenty of non-stop flights out of PHL - Philadelphia International Airport and EWR - Newark international Airport. Newark was slightly cheaper and is where we will be flying out of. For our Ohio people:the only non-stop flights to London are going to be out of CVG - Cincinnati. This is also the cheaper option and CMH - Columbus will likely route to JFK and that airport can be a nightmare. For our Florida People: There are plenty of options but the cheapest flights we found were out of MCO - Orlando or MIA - Miami. There are flights out of TPA - Tampa but they might be a little more expensive. For our DC People: The best option for y'all will be IAD - Dulles International where there are plenty of flights to London.

Wedding Day Information

Since we were originally planning to elope, we did not want all the glammer of the traditional wedding. We plan on keeping with some of the normal traditions and taking on some of the British one's as well. So, to start yes there will be an aisle and yes Krissy will walk down it. However, Her and I will be seated at the front at a table with our officiant. While our bridesmaids and groomsmen will be seated with everyone else. We plan to allow time for everyone to speak if they wish since there will not be a time to do so at the reception. As for the reception, we have arranged to host a Dinner at the restaurant Oblix which is located on the 32nd floor of the Shard. Everyone will be treated to a set menu three-course dinner (please notify in the RSVP of any dietary restrictions) and drinks will be included. We have a section of the restaurant reserved just for us. The restaurant sometimes has live music on Friday nights which would be nice. We will allow anyone to speak at dinner HOWEVER, we want to keep spirits high and have this be a very lighthearted and fun dinner. Now what about the dancing and shenanigans. Well, we plan to go OUT OUT to some bars afterwards. We do not have a plan for this and want to see where the world takes us on that night as we are both very spontaneous when it comes to these things. However, there has been talks about getting a table with bottle service somewhere, but we will keep everyone posted as we get closer to the date. Lastly, this whole thing might seem a little unorganized and, well, that is because it is a bit unorganized, but what's the fun in a strict wedding day? So, if you plan on coming, we can promise you it will an amazing day full of love, laughter, and good times.
