Q + A

Who should I contact if I have questions about the wedding?

For all questions or concerns before the day of the wedding, feel free to reach out to Amanda Akin, mother of the groom at (309)-797-3201. If you have any questions the day of the wedding, there will be an on-site wedding coordinator.

How should I RSVP?

To RSVP, click the 'RSVP' tab and type the name(s) listed on your envelope. Kindly RSVP before Wednesday, December 25th. If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Any RSVPs received after this date will be marked as a 'no' as we will be sending final headcounts to vendors shortly after this deadline - you will be missed!

What time should I arrive?

Between 2:00 PM - 2:15 PM. The ceremony begins promptly at 2:30 PM. Plan for extra commuting time due to the gravel roads and possible climate conditions in Jan.

Is there a dress code?

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Dress to impress in your best formal cocktail attire. Warm earthy colors are encouraged:) Please no jeans/denim & avoid shades of white.

What is considered cocktail attire?

Examples include suits, sports coats and dress pants, formal jumpsuits, cocktail dresses (mini, midi, knee-length, or full-length)

Food and Drinks

We will be serving pulled pork sandwiches at the reception along with cheesy potatoes and dessert. The bride and groom will be providing an open bar up to $1,000 worth of drinks. After that, the bar will accept cash or card.

Can we take our own pictures + videos throughout the day?

Our ceremony inside the venue will be unplugged. For this, we ask all phones and cameras to be put away and there to be no pictures or videos taken! You are more than welcome to take photos and videos throughout the course of the reception. This is such a special day for us, and we have the most amazing photography team documenting our entire day, that way you are able to take it all in, celebrate, and be in the moment with us!

What should I do if I arrive late?

The ceremony will be starting promptly at 2:30 PM. We recommend guests arrive between 2:00-2:15 so there is time to mingle and find a seat. If you happen to be late, someone will be there to let you know if they are still allowing guests in or if you will need to wait until the ceremony is over. If that happens, you will still be able to attend the reception, so hang tight, and we will see you at the reception! Thank you for understanding!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and the reception will be indoors.

Can I bring a guest/date?

Due to limited space, we are only able to accomodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding and please feel free to reach out with any questions!

How does seating work?

The ceremony will be open seating, so sit wherever you please; however, please allow for family to have the first few aisles. For the reception, we will be carefully arranging tables so our guests are sat with those they know (or their plus one or partner).

What should I do if I can’t attend?

You will certainly be missed!! If you are unable to attend, we do ask that you reply “no” on your RSVP so we can ensure an accurate head count. We also invite you to help us celebrate in other ways, such as prayers, letters of encouragement/good wishes or even visiting our wedding registry to send us a lil gift or contribute to our honeymoon fund!! We are hoping all of our guests can join us on this day, however we are understanding that things happen and if things get in the way, don’t be afraid to let us know!
