Emma and Wyatt's story starts with the New York Air National Guard. They both spent most of their adult lives working at the 109th Airlift Wing in Scotia New York. While they spent years serving on the same base, they were living in different worlds: Emma worked in Maintenance and Wyatt worked in Operations.

It wasn't until Joe, Wyatt's brother, took a temporary duty in the maintenance building that their worlds came together. Wyatt came down to Maintenance to eat lunch and hang out with his brother every day and that was when they met; but it was not the beginning of their love story. It took a few missions to Greenland, a few conversations, a few years, and a not-so-gentle nudge from their friend Steve Dixon to realize what was right in front of both of them all along.

Emma and Wyatt started dating on November 20th, 2022. Unfortunately Wyatt had to leave for a two month deployment on November 27th. So with a week of dating and one romantic dinner out, Wyatt packed his bags and headed to Antarctica. They emailed and called when they could and continued to laugh and learn about each other over the distance and a couple of short months later they reunited.

The next two years were littered with military training, deployments, and trips, but more importantly they were filled with love, companionship and talking about the future. On Christmas of 2023, Wyatt asked Emma to marry him with a ring that bore a diamond that had been left to Emma by her late grandfather. The two hurried off to Christmas mass, where they were only a little late and had to wait for the service to end before sharing the good news with the whole family.

Emma and Wyatt share their love of alt. rock and Irish folk music, many nerdy fandoms such as dungeons and dragons and Star Wars, both take great pride in their military service and always put family first.
