Yes! We've called our welcome dinner Israeli Cocktail and our wedding Israeli Semi Formal, for lack of a direct comparison to classic dress codes.
For the welcome dinner, we recommend nice-ish going out clothes: a cute dress or pant/skirt&top ensemble for the ladies, and jeans/casual pants and a casual button down for the men.
For the wedding, we recommend cocktail or semi-formal dresses for the women, and jeans/slacks and a button down shirt for the men.
In general, though, wedding dress codes are very relaxed here! Please come however you feel most comfortable :)
why is the wedding mid-week?
In Israel, wedding happen mid-week because of Shabbat – in order for a venue to be considered kosher, they cannot hold events from Friday evening through Saturday night. As a fun fact, Tuesdays are considered the luckiest day of the week to get married (though I can never remember why).
