Kyree and I met in 2018, right after I graduated high school. He was attending Morgan State University for football, and I had just started classes at CCBC. One day, my cousin posted him on her Snapchat, and I replied with heart eyes, asking, “Who’s that?” From that moment on, we started talking and getting to know each other.
Everything was going well—until one day, I jokingly told Kyree he was boring. After that, I stopped replying to his messages, and we drifted apart for a few years. Then, out of the blue, he found me on Instagram. We reconnected and met up at his brother’s house on June 16th. That night, we sat outside for hours, talking and vibing like no time had passed.
From the very first night we reunited, I teased him and said, “You better stop before you fall in love with me.” Kyree looked at me and said, “I already have.” He told me he was going to start a family with me one day and marry me. I laughed and said, “Yeah, okay.”
At the time, we both agreed to stay friends—I was focused on finishing school, and he wasn’t looking for a relationship either. But as time went on, Kyree would always say, “No matter what happens, can we at least stay friends?” And I always told him, “Of course.”
Eventually, life brought us both to a place where we were starting over. And this time, we chose to start fresh—together.
Throughout the months that followed, we made sure to communicate, to love each other deeply, to provide for one another, and to show up as true partners and devoted parents. We built something strong, steady, and full of love. We knew, without a doubt, that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together—as a family. One day, Kyree did some research to find out what’s farther than the moon, and he discovered the HD1 star—one of the most distant galaxies ever found. Since then, instead of saying “I love you to the moon and back,” he tells me, “I love you to HD1 and back.”
Then came our beautiful blessing, baby Kylin. Kyree made sure I had the most peaceful pregnancy imaginable. I never had to want for anything, and I’ll forever be grateful for the love and care he gave me during that time.
Kyree proposed to me right after we left the hospital with our son. Kylin was born on February 11, 2025, and Kyree proposed on February 22, 2025—a date I’ll never forget.
That day, he told me he had to cut a client’s hair and asked if I’d be okay alone with the baby. I told him I’d be fine, so he left. When he came back, he picked up the baby to change him. Kylin started crying, and I was in the kitchen washing bottles when Kyree called out, “Bae, come here real quick.”
I rushed into the room, and there he was—down on one knee. I gasped and said, “Oh my God, bae, wait! My hair—look at me, I look crazy!” And he looked up at me, smiling, and said, “You are always beautiful to me.”
Looking back, I’m grateful for every twist and turn that led us here. Life brought us full circle in the most beautiful way. We started as strangers, became friends, fell in love, and built a family. And the best part? This is only the beginning.
