Yaye and I met in choir class at Washington State university in 2014. when I first laid eyes on her I just knew God had plans to have her in my life, but I was not certain of what role she would play. In this time period we only spoke briefly to the point of which we only knew of each other, however, I always had my eyes on her during class (wink).

The first time we truly connected and exchanged contact information was at a Halloween party, fall of 2015, where I had just crossed for my fraternity and was proud and confident that evening. A fight broke out at the party and I noticed as I was getting ready to leave the party that she was right in the middle of the fight looking for her phone, that she dropped. Heroically(of course), at this time I knew what had to be done, and went in for the rescue and ended up sweeping her off her feet and brought her out of harms way and onto the ground where her safety was assured. At this time Yaye really noticed me. I offered to take her and her friend home and while I was taking her home, she asked for my number.

After that, about another year went by without us contacting one another and I ended up reaching out to her for business, and also to further our friendship, this was fall of 2016. After reaching out and getting her response, I found out that she was interested in both. And so our friendship started to bloom and truly progress at this time from about 2016-2017. Also during this time we both started to get excited about our own futures and dreams while respecting our friendship. This is the time where my feelings grew for her but I never truly told her.

During 2017 we ended up doing our own thing where she started focusing strictly on school and I on business, where we would just check up on each other every once in a while. Then in 2018 she took a closer look at where I was headed in life, and saw that it was good. Then she decided to start her own business with my help and that’s when we started to truly work together.

Then late 2018 I was working on my spiritual journey and she was too. As I realized we were working towards the same values and beliefs, I became certain of the role that God was going to have her play in my life. And not too much later that’s when I officially asked her out and she said YES! However, Yaye was hesitant in the beginning and we both were on a journey to know Jesus as our savior. We broke up as a result and found our way back to each other as we both became disciples of Jesus Christ! We started to date again and God has totally blessed our lives together. We give all the glory to God. We are looking forward to building our lives together.
