On a crisp October evening, after a long day at work, I found myself unwinding with some co-workers over dinner at a local sports bar called Cronies in Camarillo. Although none of us were actively seeking to meet someone new, we embraced the possibility of making new connections. The night was still young, so we decided to explore a couple of nearby bars .Our adventure led us to the infamous Bar Outlaws, a spot where we could play pool and enjoy some cold drinks. Upon arrival, I noticed a beautiful woman sitting in her car. Taking a chance, I casually approached her and asked if she was heading in and if we could get her a drink. To my delight, she warmly responded that she was with friends and would join us soon, even hinting at where they were seated at the bar.As we entered, we were greeted with a lively atmosphere, and our two groups quickly gelled. The energy was contagious, filled with laughter and easygoing conversation. I found my attention drawn to one woman in particular: Yesenia. Her luminous eyes and kind demeanor drew me in, and I was eager to learn more about her without coming on too strong.After a bit of karaoke and some playful dancing, I stepped outside for a breath of fresh air. To my surprise, Yesenia followed, standing next to me with a smile that could light up the night. As we chatted, we discovered that we were both the unofficial leaders of our respective groups, overseeing the fun.As the night wound down, Yesenia noticed us ordering an Uber and graciously offered us a ride to our hotel, since it was just a few miles away. One of her friends wasn’t quite ready to leave, so Yesenia volunteered to drop us off and return for her friend. What a sweetheart!Once we got to the hotel, a small panic set in—I hadn’t gotten Yesenia’s phone number, and I couldn’t let her slip away that easily. Thinking quickly, I devised an absurd excuse to stay in the car longer, claiming I needed to check on her friend. The two women exchanged amused glances, and I laughed at how ridiculous I must have looked. But it worked! After dropping off her friend, Yesenia and I exchanged numbers, and with a light hug, the two of them were off.A month passed with scheduling conflicts getting in the way, but finally, we set a date to celebrate Yesenia’s birthday. That night, everything clicked; our conversations flowed effortlessly, and I was completely smitten. As our relationship blossomed, I discovered every facet of Yesenia’s personality, from her quirky sense of humor to her delightful wit—she truly was a joy to be around.However, a turn of events soon put me in a panic. After a work trip, I lost my phone just after promising to call her when I returned to my room. I was frantic! We were still in the early stages of our relationship, and I didn't want to lose her before we had a real chance together. With a little luck and determination, I rushed to return to town and explain why it might seem like I had ghosted her.In the end, our connection proved strong enough to withstand the bumps along the way. Here we are today, ready to embark on the next chapter of our lives together!
