Anand Karaj - Wedding Ceremony

Where do we sit inside the wedding ceremony (Anand Karaj) room?

Direct family members sit at the front 3 rows. Friends and other family members sit behind the flowers which we will place to mark the borderline. You are free to sit near whomever you feel comfortable with. There is no designated Bride vs Groom side. You’re free to mingle. For those who require an elevated seat instead of sitting on the carpet, there are benches at the back of the room and chairs at both sides of the room.

How should we sit?

Face the altar Cross legged No feet pointing towards the altar Do not sit with your back facing the altar

When do we stand?

All guests are to remain seated from beginning of ceremony to the end (ardaas). You will be signaled to stand at the end only. Please remain seated even when the groom or bride enters the room.

What if we need to take a break during the ceremony?

You may leave the ceremony room at any time for any reason then return at your leisure.

What else should we keep in mind while inside the ceremony room?

We kindly ask you to keep quiet for the duration of our ceremony. This means to please refrain from side conversation, clapping, whistling, etc. once we exit the ceremony room, you can do all of the above listed ways to show your support 💐🎉. If you have little ones whom at times may need to take a break from sitting, please feel free to take them outside or downstairs for a snack🥳
