It's an ancient site that's ~1hr drive from InterContinental Hangzhou that dates back ~5,000 years, often referred to as the birthplace of Chinese civilization, showcasing an advanced society with incredible urban planning and intricate jade artifacts. Plus, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site.
You can spend a full day there to check out the Liangzhu museum (良渚博物馆), Liangzhu Ancient City Relic Site (良渚古城遗迹), and Liangzhu Meilizhou Park (良渚美丽洲公园)
It was the Southern Song Imperial Palace City, newly opened place in 2022, where you can get a taste of the royal life of ancient China. It has exhibitions at the museum to showcase the everyday life of the emperors and the ordinary people at that time.
Right next to Deshou Palace was Southern Song Royal Street (Nan Song Yu Jie 南宋御街). It was the location of the Royal Street during the Southern Song dynasty. You can taste a variety of Hangzhou specialty snacks, such as Fried Dough Sticks Wrapped in Thin Pancake (葱包烩), Victory cake (定胜糕) , etc., and you can also buy silk, tea, Wang Xingji fans and other Hangzhou-style souvenirs.
