Our Love Story

It all started in January 2017 when Quentin and Yulissa both swiped right on a dating app that matched them based on pets, food, hiking, and travel. Little did they know, that simple swipe would lead to the most amazing journey of their lives.

They talked for hours that first night—until 3 a.m.—and instantly connected. When Yulissa learned Quentin was living in Hawaii, she was amazed. He had left Hemet to hike and work there, a world away from her life in Cathedral City. She had never traveled like that at a young age, and his adventurous spirit fascinated her.

A week later, Quentin told Yulissa he was moving back to California and asked her on a date. On January 18th, 2017, they met for a movie. Nervous, Yulissa ended up spilling popcorn all over herself during a scary scene. Quentin just laughed, grabbed a handful off her, and ate it like nothing happened. Then, he put his arm around her and said, “I’ll keep you safe.” Her heart raced—she knew something special had begun.

From that day, Quentin made life an adventure. They hiked, ice skated, camped, and explored fairs and festivals. He filled Yulissa’s world with new experiences and endless love.

Fast forward to December 2nd, 2024. Quentin planned a day at Yulissa’s favorite place, the Aquarium of the Pacific. While walking through the exhibits, he asked for a photo. When she turned around, he was on one knee, asking her to marry him. Surrounded by the ocean and their love, she said yes.
