I met Nijee in 2009 at a location I never imagined meeting my husband but at a gas station. It was a hot Summer day and I saw this huge sweaty dude walking in my direction. I immediately began thinking of how I was going to turn down his attempt to get to know me. When he spoke to me he was so well mannered and sweet and not like I perceived him to be. I took his number and called him weeks later. It never worked between us during this time because he seemed rather preoccupied. Years past and we bumped into each other at the same exact gas station, at the same pump....funny I know. I was actually glad to see him but the timing was still not right. In 2015 we crossed paths again and this time, it was right. I had my reservations about Nij but he proved himself to me. The road has not been easy but we stood together to make things right. I am happy to have him in my life. On our anniversary, Nijee had the clever idea to take anniversary pictures. We were both excited to celebrate our anniversary as well as taking our first professional photos. I remember telling myself that I would never take professional photos with another man unless he is my husband. No, Nijee was not that but little that I knew he was preparing himself to take that role. I remember Nij taking these shots so serious because he wanted us to color coordinate and for me to get my hair done professionally; I was excited! On the day he asked for my hand I remember getting slayed by my niece Jaylen and my eyes got full and I made the comment that it feels like I am about to get married. Nij and I enjoy the Low Country parks and waterfronts. On our engagement day, we took numerous shots at the Riverfront Park. I remember Nij telling me that he loved me over and over to the point he got on my nerves. This was an indicator that something was up because he was popping sweat and repeating "I love you" to me. At the final shot, he got on one knee but I thought he was playing because he is known to be a jokester. He faked a proposal on my birthday the year before and I really did not feel like gaming and joking on our anniversary. I remember pulling his goatee and whispered, "You better not embarrass me in front of all these people at the park" and "Open up the box and let me know its real". Nijee gave a beautiful speech as our photographer captured every moment and asked me to be his wife. this moment felt like heaven. This was one of the happiest moments in my life. Now, let him tell it.'

How we met....Yvette's version.

I met this angelic young lady over 7 years ago. I later found out that she was on lunch break h and she came to the gas station that I was working. I was in the middle of serving customers at the time and I looked over at the gas pump and saw her pumping her gas.My boss and my district manager were inside but I knew I had to say something to her by walking outside. I didn't have any expectation I gave her my name and then she gave me the most peaceful conversation most trusting look and she allowed us to exchange numbers. Keep in mind I was already dripping sweat because it was getting hot and I was also nervous but she took my complete nervousness away. Shortly after that we became friends but I wasn't able to make her mine then because a part of me wasn't ready to grow up yet . A woman like her was not having that so over the years I can finally say I grew up because I am getting ready to walk that same best friend down the aisle to say "I do". What we rekindled 2 years ago I knew I couldn't let you go twice. I buckled down and showed you what this man was willing to do to make sure I had you but also in doing so you have taught me the greatest gift of all; you have taught me how to love myself and how to love God.You taught me how to truly love you so for that I will always be eternally grateful. You are my heart and my everything and I am proud to say the man I am today was because you . You took the time out of your busy schedule to teach me how to be that man for you through the ups and the down. I wouldn't have that with anyone else but you. I know now what it means to put all of your feelings inside just to make sure that your significant other is always happy . I learned with you that comes with sacrifice, ambition, courageousness and with all of that you have helped me become your leader . I am proud to say that I would never fail you as I know that my God will not fail me. What we have is genuine and I am honered to have the pleasure of saying that on September 1st 2017 . Hi, my name is Alexandria Davis, also known as Ali. I am the maternal cousin to the bride. I reside in Lexington, SC  with my  husband and 2 sons. I am a graduate of Columbia College and work as a government program specialist. My marriage wishes for NIjee and Yvette are, that their sacred bond be a beautiful beginning to a wonderful life together. May your union continue to be a direct reflection of God's love, joy, happiness and family. You complete each other in so many ways and my wish is in your journey as one you reach height imaginable.

Hi, my name is Darryl Smith and I met Nijee in 2008. Our bond grew tighter throughout the years from housemates to friends and now brothers. He is like a brother from another mother. My children see him as family now, he is their Uncle Nijee. I am thankful to be a part of this union, this celebration of love between Yvette and Nijee. Yvette, you have yourself a winner, a man that I am proud to call my friend.

I am a drug and alcohol counselor as my profession and enjoy being a mommy to my son Ethan. I am excited and honored to be the maid of honr. I wish my sister and brother the best. Love you guys!

Hi, my name is Rashad Rogers. I am employed un the Finishing Department at J.W. Aluminum. I met Nijee his first day at school in the second grade. We all have our own story of Nijee but I was his first friend when he moved here and rom that day we were best of friends. Over 20+ years of friendship and we are still rocking. I am honored to be sharing this day with you and to call you my brother.

Hi, my name is Markel Bailey. I am a Master Hair Care Specialist. I met Nijee in 2013 and it was an instant bond.I am his barber as well as his go to guy. The way we impacted each other lives is the way we encourage each other. We believe in treating people the way we want to be treated. Loyalty has never been an issue and it is something that was never forced but came naturally.Our friendship is one as some would say new but stronger than ever.

Hi my name is Markies Jones. I met Nijee in 1994. We went from playing in the sandbox to enjoying adultl life experiences together. I am really proud of my brother and the man that he has become to be. I have watched him grow from someone who only thought about himself to completely being willing to give his entire life to another person. I don't know Yvette that well but I know that the connection that they have is perfect; so with that being said  she will always be apart of my family.
