Wedding Script:

Welcome. Thank you all for being here today. I am Marcus Butler. Darcy and Greg have asked me to be the officiant for their wedding ceremony. I have known Darcy for many years and am honored to recognize and celebrate the love she and Greg share.

At the request of the couple, I invite you all to not only silence your cell phones, but also put them away during the ceremony. The talented photographers with us today will capture and share these moments – we encourage you to enjoy the celebrations, without the distraction of technology. Thank you for your cooperation. Don’t worry. We’ll get you an opportunity to take a few.

Darcy and Greg, today we are gathered here to celebrate the love you have discovered in each other and support the commitment you are about to make.

Marriage is more than two people standing here and repeating vows. There is an entire lifetime ahead of you and there are skills to be learned and practiced daily:

Part of marriage is finding happiness. Continue to search for the good, the fun, and the beautiful in this life to share with each other.

Part of marriage is being flexible. So, within your marriage cultivate flexibility, patience, and understanding, all while maintaining a sense of humor and joy.

Part of marriage is companionship. Strive to comfort one another and develop the capacity to forgive and heal your differences day by day.

Today you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife; your lives blending together and expanding the ties of your family and best friends. You are embarking upon a great adventure, through which all of us here know you will prevail.

Darcy and Greg have chosen their own Vows.

Darcy's Vows:

Greg, this is the day that we have planned and looked forward to, as the official day we begin our lives together forever. We are so lucky to be here, so in love, and surrounded by everyone we love. Today is a beautiful day of celebration. Our love is truly something to celebrate.

From three minutes into our first date at the cemetery, I knew you were someone special. Our connection was instant and life changing. That night, as we connected, sharing stories and Blizzards behind the Ace Hardware, I knew that we would be in each other's lives forever. As we have grown together over the past two years, I know you are my partner.

Throughout our relationship, as we have experienced joys and challenges, you have continued to show me that you will be there with me through anything. You support me as I pursue my goals and you inspire me to be creative. You’ve shown me love and compassion and you make me want to just be myself. Greg, I vow to love you and be by your side, to encourage and support you as you pursue your goals and passions throughout life.

Ramona and Zinnia, thank you for letting me into your lives and being open to the love we all share as a family. I am so honored to get the opportunity to be a part of your support team. I love you both very much.

A marriage is a choice to make a commitment and remain committed for life. As we stand here today, in front of our families and loved ones, I am so honored to commit my love to you. I vow to keep our love and commitment a priority in my life.

Darcy and Greg have chosen to do a hand fasting ceremony to symbolize the binding of their lives as they exchange their rings

to support each others hobbies and interests, where skateboards and Halloween decorations are perfect house decorations all year; creativity is always encouraged,

to share love and remain committed as a continuous ritual of exchanged energy and
